Obituary of Paul S. Distefano
Paul S. Distefano of Southampton, died on December 22, 2020 in the comfort of his own home in Southampton, NY. He was 38 years old.
Paul was born at Southampton Hospital on November 1, 1982 to Paul A. Distefano and Patricia Sadowski.
He attended school in the Southampton school district and graduated in June 2001. He went on to the Denver Automotive and Diesel college for a semester before realizing that he wanted to begin his own business. Paul started Odds & Ends Services before changing his business name to Down to Earth Enterprises Inc in 2014, focusing on landscaping and excavation.
Paul was a dedicated member of the North Sea Fire Department for 20 years, participating in the juniors program, working on the antique trucks, and serving as a lieutenant and captain. He also was part of the North Sea Fire Department’s dive team and Benevolent Association, donating much of his time to fundraisers and helping out his fellow brothers. He loved all the gatherings, hunting and fishing trips, golf outings and enjoyed his carnival days in the rollerball booth.
Paul wore his heart on his sleeve; he always put his family and friends first and would do anything for them. He always had a smile on his face (Cheese). He loved collecting coins, traveling, and playing with his dogs. He also loved to tinker in the garage, fixing machines, working on his automobiles. Paul was a member of Ducks Unlimited, enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, walking trails and exploring what Mother Nature had to offer.
After his diagnosis in March 2014, Paul turned to his faith for strength. He began attending the 9:30 mass on Sundays at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary RC Church, looking forward to hearing the homilies of Fr. Mike Vetrano, who married him in November 2013.
Paul is survived by his wife Beth Distefano, mother Patricia Distefano, step-mother Christine Barrett-Distefano, sisters Robin Oliver and her husband Donald, Stacey Distefano and her significant other James White, II, and Rachel Distefano, nieces Ashley Rewinski and her husband Thomas, Diana Oliver, Madison White and nephew James White, III, his best friend William Rosko, Jr. and his brothers of the North Sea Fire Department.
