Frank Ross Harp, Jr. died of natural causes on July 26, 2020 in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Frank was born in New Paltz, New York to Frank Ross Harp, Sr. and Bessie Fredericks Harp on October 11, 1929. He graduated from New Paltz High School. He was honorably discharged from the US Army, after having served in the Korean War. He was married to Linda Rose Harp for over twenty years. For over 30 years, he worked for IBM in Kingston, NY, Lexington, KY, and Boca Raton, Fla. as a packaging engineer. He was an active member of Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church, in Lexington, Kentucky, where he served as a deacon and as the church treasurer. He later moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. His hobbies included fishing, working on cars, helping his neighbors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Carolyn R. Corwith of Water Mill, NY, and Margaret H. Fowler, of Southampton NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Katelyn Corwith, Janet Corwith Miller, both of Water Mill, NY and Richard and Andrew Fowler, both of Southampton, and two brand new great-grandsons, Richard and Charles Fowler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Bessie Elliott, and Earl Harp, and by his sons-in-law, Richard T. Fowler, and William H. Corwith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church, 2793 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, KY, 40511, to the VFW Dunes Post 7009, PO Box 1314, Southampton NY, 11969, or to the charity of their choice. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Manor Care, Boynton Beach, Fla., where Frank resided for the last several years.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. Brockett Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
