Obituary of Edmund Walter Zebrowski

Edmund Walter Zebrowski of Southampton, New York passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 84. After several months of declining health, Walter died peacefully at home. Walter was born in Bridgehampton, New York on September 10, 1935 to father Walter Zebrowski and mother Sophie Graboski in Bridgehampton, New York. He attended local schools and served as an altar boy at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton, New York. Walter served in the Strategic Air Command in the United States Air Force from 1954-1957. Upon returning from service to our country he met and fell in love with Beverly Ann Elizabeth Brandt. They married in 1960. Walter grew up around his family’s potato farm and had passion for the land and agriculture that carried throughout his life. Until his retirement, he owned a successful landscaping business and in his retirement, enjoyed assisting his daughter Jill and her husband Alfredo with their own landscape and property management company. Walter was a skilled polka dancer and was a familiar face every Sunday at the Basilica Parish of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton where he served as an usher. Walter was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his brother Stanley, and his daughter Karin Lynn Zebrowski. He is survived by his son Jeffrey E. Zebrowski and wife Ellen of Colorado, Jill E. Zebrowski Salazar and husband Alfredo of Southampton, New York, son Gregory B. Zebrowski and wife Stephanie of Virginia and two grandsons, Brandt and Jack Zebrowski, and his companion Carol McNally of Sag Harbor, New York. A gathering of family and friends was held on Wednesday, May 27th at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral mass was held on Thursday, May 28th at Sacred Hearts in Southampton, followed by a private burial with military honors at Sacred Hearts cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Walter’s honor to the JBJ Soul Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses their efforts on the issues of hunger and homelessness in the United States
