Obituary of Dorothy "Dot" Davis

Dorothy Davis, who was affectionately known as “Dot,” began her life in March 23, 1953 in Southampton, NY. She was born to the late Geneva and Lorenzo Davis. Dorothy attended Southampton Public schools and graduated from the State University of Farmingdale with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught for several years at the Bellport Day Care Center and the Fountain of Youth Day Care Center. For accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Community Baptist Church where she served in the Young Adult Choir. Dot’s hobbies were reading, writing, poetry and painting. She also loved taking long walks, dancing and singing. She was an avid fan of basketball and in her youth an exceptional player herself. She showed great love for her family, especially the children. Aunt Dot made each child fee unique, special and loved. Dot departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Predeceased by her parents, Geneva and Lorenzo Davis, her brother, Deacon Tran Davis, her sister, Diana Madison, her brother in law Ulysses Mitchner, and her sister in law, Judy Davis; she leaves to cherish her memory: her brother Frankie Davis, Southampton, NY her twin sister, Doris Mitchner, Daytona Beach, Fl and her sister Donna (Kevin) Mack, Tacoma Park, MD; her brother in law, Avery Madison, Woodbridge, VA; and her uncle, Winzola (Heidi) Davis, Dayton, OH; her nieces Dasha, Crystal (Aaron) Whitney, Brittney and Sharnell (Trevon); her nephews Corey, Perry, Isaac, Keith (Debbie), Elijah (Lisa), Damon, Carl (Kara), Scottie (Shantavia), Kevin (Karina) and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
