Obituary of Wenzel J. Rowan

Deacon Wenzel J. Rowan was born on June 12, 1936 in Harriman Tennessee. To friends and family he was known by Tennessee.  He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18th 2019.  Predeceased his parents, and son Stephen J. Rowan.  He is survived by his wife Iona Rowan of Riverhead, his daughter Deacon Teresa Thomas of Mastic Beach, his son Zuriel Rowan of Fort Lauderdale Florida.  He has three grandchildren Roshell Ross, Darius Morgan and Daniel Morgan.  Two great grandchildren Johnell and Rashawn Moore.  Two Sisters Ennis and Joyce.  One nephew Vincent Sumerell and two great nephews Christopher and Clayton along with five sister in laws and four brother in laws.  He leaves behind a host of friends and family in Knoxville Tennessee.

 

Deacon Wenzel did a great many things in his lifetime.  He was a retiree of Brookhaven National Lab, a taxi driver, a deacon, male chorus leader, a friend, father and great grandfather.  He enjoyed his family and enjoyed horse racing and scratch-offs, but he was always a servant to God and others around him with a big smile on his face.
