Obituary of Carolyn "Carrie" Brown

 

Carolyn E. (Carrie) Brown, age 94, Southampton, NY passed away June 24, 2019 at Southampton Hospital.

 

Funeral mass was held on July 1, 2019 at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary in Southampton.  Burial  at Calverton National Cemetery.

 

Carolyn Brown was born in Southampton to William & Mary Esther Seely on September 1, 1924.  She went to Southampton High School.  She worked as a secretary for the Colonial for ten years before having her children.

 

She was an artist, very creative, loved the ocean at Little Plains Beach and loved to read, was a good fisherman, excellent bowler, loved her flower gardens and was a homemaker.  She was baptized in the church and was in the church choir for over 50 years.

 

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Charles - married for 71 years.  Children: Cheryl & Tony Sclafani; Charles & Gitta Brown; Christine Brown, Colin & Susan Brown.  Grandchildren: Kelly & Christopher Goetzfried; Colin Philip Brown.  Sisters & Brother: Mildred Nolan, Joan Cannon, William Seely Jr.

 

Predeceased by sisters Mary Curry, Catherine McClain, Patricia Geoghegan.  Survived by in-laws:  Doris Hoover, William & Beverly Brown.  Predeceased Charlotte & William Flynn; Roberta & Richard Hovick; & Reverend Richard Hoover.  Carolyn adored her two grandchildren Kelly & Colin and loved all her many nieces and nephews.
