Obituary of Howard Jablow
Howie Jablow, 59 of Water Mill passed away Thursday, April 7th at Stony Brook Hospital. He was born Sept 17, 1951 to Florence and Milton Jablow. Howie was raised in New Hyde Park and moved to the East End in 1978.
Howie has been employed at Southampton Hospital since 1978 as the Director of Respiratory Therapy, a position he so enjoyed and put his heart and soul into. He also shared his knowledge and expertise through educational programs for students and with several skilled nursing facilities in the area. Howie graduated from St. Joseph's College and received his MBA from Dowling College.
Howie was also a founder of LIRCMA, a trustee for the Water Mill Community Club and a member of the LI East Ski Club. He had a great curiosity for all things, researching what was needed, gathering the right equipment "gadgets" in order to complete the project, including building his own house with help from "how to" books and wonderful friends and family.
The priority in his life was his family. A devoted husband and father-Howie is survived by his wife Pat and three daughters: Janine and her husband Rob Balnis, Caitlin Jablow, and Brianne Jablow. Survivors also include his mother Florence, his brother Scott and wife Janet, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He had been anxiously awaiting the birth of his first grandchild later this month.
Memorial donations in his memory can be made to: Southampton Hospital Foundation; Dominican Sisters Family Health Service, Inc; Water Mill Community Club or The Conservative Synagogue of the Hamptons.
